Discussion Group on XMPP, Signal or SimpleX

If interested, it would be nice to have an official Lemmy community, Signal, XMPP, or SimpleX group (instead of relying on Discord, Matrix, or Telegram, Reddit).

Open and federated platforms are more aligned with open-source values, reduce vendor lock-in, improve privacy, and make communities more resilient long-term.

Matrix exposes and replicates large amounts of user relationship and activity metadata across servers, so it should not be prefered when there are better alternatives

While this issue may feel minor on a public server, it's still a Matrix design flaw that the team hasn't fixed despite being able to. It might be worth considering other options instead
