/var/log/stacksync-server was not created during installation

During installation on Debian 7.5 I had to create directory /var/log/stacksync-server manually (it wasn't created by installer).

Anyone on this issue? I'm running a Debian 8.3 and trying to install stacksync-server_0.6.13_all.deb. The same issue arises (here is the execution log on stdout):

Creating the missing folder by hand doesn't solve the problem.

Can you try giving broad write and exec permissions to that folder to check if that's the issue?

sudo mkdir /var/log/stacksync-server 
sudo chmod +wx /var/log/stacksync-server

Facing the same issue with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
Tried creating the folder and files in it,but they get deleted after the installation fails with the above error.
