Epub Reader Implementation?

Hi @gabrielcsapo , I was going through the source code and had a few questions. Is the Epub Reader written in Swift? Does it have any limitations in terms of EPUB 2/3 etc., features? I am also writing an EPub reader in Flutter so I was curious about how much effort it is.

Yes it is fully in swift, I am using swift soup to parse and then a bunch of epub samples I got online to verify changes.

Is it a lot of work...yes because epubs assume html spec compliance and that goes with css layout. However I think my solution is like 99% capable and have had great success. Rasterizing text kit fonts is way nicer to read than a embedded WebKit view

The one that caused issues is the text in svg use case, https://github.com/gabrielcsapo/Compendus/blob/main/server/__fixtures__/epub/sous-le-vent.epub is extremely weird it assumes a two column rendering and the text is embedded in the svg. Native web engines have no problem doing this but in swift I had to create a custom renderer that handled it and it looks 99.9999% accurate
