Quick Search Behaves Poorly

I noticed immediately that the Quick Search behaves poorly after updating my SDK IDE just now. I'm used to type "Error" to open the error log and now it's really not so good for that anymore. I've never actually used it to open files but now it's lists lots of files.

It's a bit hard to make a video...

I imagine this is a regression from the many changes I saw related to the implementation details.

It feels bad to ship M1 like this...

The regression comes from commit 86a07a0 ("Rank Quick Access results by a continuous relevance score"). Looking into the correct solution without a simple revert.

I prefer we build a fixed version. Maybe it's personal because I use this a lot. But we have time...

I agree. Since we still have time, I would prefer that the fix be included in the build.

In the pr I see the following error, but my PR is not touching org.eclipse.ui.views/

org.apache.maven.lifecycle.LifecycleExecutionException: Failed to execute goal org.eclipse.tycho.extras:tycho-p2-extras-plugin:5.0.3:compare-version-with-baselines (compare-attached-artifacts-with-release) on project org.eclipse.ui.views: Only qualifier changed for (org.eclipse.ui.views/3.13.100.v20260703-0658). Expected to have bigger x.y.z than what is available in baseline (3.13.100.v20260326-1607)

The PR validation fails with an error in org.eclipse.ui.views which I have not touched. I think they are related to the "Force qualifier changes" commits to master (258832c, 1bf0ee8, 4d26090) touching forceQualifierUpdate.txt but not bumping the version of the plug-in.

No, I try to keep validation green in eclipse.platform.ui and that is a new issue, see my previous comment, I think it is related to the force updates for the signing.
